Prayers, Phones, and Primary

This is a story from when my dad was in primary.
It was the primary president. She asked him to say the prayer in closing exercises.
Now, little Aaron was deathly afraid of saying the prayer. What if he messed up? All of these questions came into his mind.
But he had the best idea.
He was going to practice all week so he would be prepared for the prayer next Sunday!
Over and over in his mind he went through the process of a prayer. "Heavenly Father, we are thankful for..." and it went on and on. He turned the words over and over in his mind. He would be prepared. "Heavenly Father, please bless..."

Well, he was beginning to feel ready for Sunday, and he was at his house. One day, the phone rang.
"I'll get it!" yelled Aaron to his siblings.
Aaron ran to the phone and picked it up. He said the first thing that came to his mind:
"Heavenly Father?"
In the instant he had said it, his face turned bright red. He had meant to say "hello," but his mind was so caught up in the prayer that he couldn't help it!
Aaron was embarrassed, but at least he was prepared to say the prayer.

What did you learn from this story?

Time worked on blog so far:
